New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) The central environment and forest ministry is yet to give its nod for two mega thermal power projects in Tamil Nadu despite its own expert committee having given its sanction for the projects, state Power Minister Natham R. Viswanathan said Tuesday.

NEW DELHI: The government has kicked-off biddingprocess of two ultra mega power projects envisaged to be set up under the new framework at a cost of about Rs 40,000 crore.
Power Finance Corp, the nodal agency for bidding the 4,000-mw projects in Orissa and Tamil Nadu, will host four conferences with prospective bidders in the next 20 days at Delhi, Mumbai, Bhubneshwar and Chennai, a senior company official said.
